EVLT Vascular
We know how frustrating it can be to see spider veins on your legs. One of the most incredible medical breakthroughs in varicose vein treatment is Endovenous Laser Ablation Therapy (EVLT). Utilizing the latest minimally invasive technology, VenaCure, our team can have your legs looking and feeling great.
What is Endovenous Laser Ablation Therapy (EVLT) treatment?
Veins are the body’s transport mechanisms. They carry blood pumped by the heart to different body parts, where it delivers oxygen and other necessities. The natural movement of your muscles helps to push blood through your veins, ensuring it reaches every part of your body.
All veins have valves that act like traffic signals, opening and closing to ensure blood is constantly flowing in the correct direction. Varicose veins are broken valves in the vein which cause the blood to flow backward and become stagnant inside. This causes the vein to expand, stretch, and become intertwined with similar veins, meaning it can’t work as well as it would’ve. Varicose veins are common and often affect people of all ages. You can’t avoid developing varicose veins, but you can take action to prevent them from worsening. Endovenous Laser Ablation Therapy (EVLT) is a laser treatment for veins that has proven to be one of the most effective ways to treat varicose veins.
At LifeHope Healing, we offer advanced treatments of venous disorders in a state-of-the-art medical facility under the directorship of Dr. Kevin Lie. Treatment of leg vein disorders has changed dramatically in the recent past. Dr. Lie remains a pioneer in the field of leg vein disorders, bringing you the latest technologies in treating troublesome surface veins, eliminating conventional methods of “stripping” and the need for large incisions. Treatments for vein disorders, whether for cosmetic reasons or more concerning illnesses, are private. Dr. Lie and the team are dedicated to delivering excellent care, total customer satisfaction, and the most comfortable experience possible. Dr. Lie uses the VenaCure EVLT system for this procedure.
How does it work?
Endovenous Laser Ablation Therapy (EVLT) is a minimally invasive procedure that involves the insertion of a needle into a vein in the lower leg to gain access to an enlarged vein. A laser fiber is inserted into the enlarged vein with extreme precision, delivering energy and heating up blood that has pooled inside, eliminating varicose veins. This reduces the size of the vein, helping it to flow better. The surrounding tissues are unaffected; this is a safe and effective medical procedure. It is performed under local anesthesia and allows the patient to walk out of the office after the procedure and resume normal activities soon after.
Endovenous Laser Ablation Therapy is similar to radiofrequency ablation in that it aims to close the superficial diseased vein. Before the procedure, your doctor will numb the affected area with a locally administered anesthetic. The doctor will also use an ultrasound device to scan the vein and verify its correction before, during, and after the treatment. During the procedure, a small incision will be made in your skin. The catheter will then be inserted into the affected vein and guided by ultrasound to its proper position. VenaCure is minimally invasive, performing better than other devices used in peripheral vascular treatments, allowing the entrance point to be smaller.
Once the catheter is guided inside the varicose vein, a laser fiber will heat up the length of the vein. The laser applies enough energy to the walls of the vein to cause it to seal and close. By forcing the blood flow to redirect, this process causes a decrease in thickened veins and increase in healthier veins. The body absorbs the sealed vein, and it disappears. Operating on patients with VenaCure EVLT has an astonishing success rate of 98%. It usually takes less than an hour with local anesthesia than general anesthesia. Therefore, it is usually the most comforting, safe, and effective option.

Common FAQs

How much does EVLT cost?
The cost of VenaCure EVLT depends on how much the vein needs to be treated. The price of your treatment will be discussed during your one-on-one consultation with our medical provider. LifeHope Healing Med Spa adheres to the highest standards. In your consultation, we will create a customized package tailored to your needs and provide you with an accurate treatment cost.
What's the recovery like after ELVT?
To heal faster, you will wear compression stockings. Immediately after treatment, you should walk to ensure healthy blood flow and prevent blood clotting.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment takes less than an hour. Patients can resume their daily activities almost immediately after this procedure.
Is there a risk of scarring after the treatment?
Not at all. The pigment in the blood is targeted by vascular lasers, so the blood vessels are destroyed without damaging the surrounding skin.
What is the expected time frame for Endovenous Laser Ablation Therapy's results?
It is common for varicose vein symptoms (heaviness, aching, numbness, etc.) to improve immediately after treatment. However, dilated branch varicose veins gradually shrink over time. After a few months, you will see the final results.
Am I a good candidate for ELVT?
You are a good candidate for an EVLT procedure if you have painful varicose veins, cramping, leg swelling, restless legs, discolored skin, or wounds that do not heal.
